This page lists the Bible translations and data used on this website, with their licenses and sources.
Translations
The Berean Standard Bible (BSB) has been in the public domain since April 30, 2023. Its publisher asks that the name “Berean” be used only for the unchanged text, which is the case here. The King James Version (KJV) is in the public domain; in the United Kingdom, the right to print it is held under Crown letters patent. The World English Bible (WEB) is in the public domain; “World English Bible” is a trademark of eBible.org and is used here for the unchanged text. The German pages use the Luther Bible of 1912, which is also in the public domain and is shown in its original spelling. The texts come from the files published by eBible.org.
Why not the NIV, ESV or Luther 2017?
These translations are protected by copyright and may only be used under a license from their publishers. Everything shown here can be read, copied and shared without permission.
Verse numbering
References follow the numbering of English Bibles. A few verses in the KJV are not in the BSB or WEB because they are missing from the oldest manuscripts; they are never drawn and are marked in the context view.
Topics and cross references
Topic assignments and cross references are based on data from OpenBible.info, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY). The lists for baptism, weddings, funerals and birthdays were chosen by hand.
