You can embed the Bible verse of the day or an interactive random verse box on your own website, church homepage or blog. Both widgets use the same bookprint typography as this site, adapt to mobile and desktop widths, and come from public-domain translations.

Two widgets to choose from

The Verse of the Day widget shows one hand-picked verse per calendar date, identical for every visitor who opens your page on that day. It is quiet and self-contained, suited to a parish sidebar, a daily devotional column or a welcome page.

The Random Verse widget includes a “New Verse” button and a translation selector so readers can draw another verse from the curated pool and switch between the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), the King James Version (KJV) and the World English Bible (WEB).

Color schemes and automatic height

By default, the widget follows your visitor’s system preference (prefers-color-scheme): warm paper with rubric red in light mode, and a dark reading palette at night. If your site uses a fixed light or dark background, add ?theme=light or ?theme=dark via the switch above.

Whenever the verse changes or the window is resized, the frame sends its exact height to the parent page via window.parent.postMessage({ type: 'rbv-resize', height }, '*'). If you want your page to adjust the frame height automatically, you can listen for that message in a short script.

Privacy-friendly by design

The /embed/ pages load no analytics scripts, set no cookies, and do not touch localStorage. All fonts and Bible data are served directly from randombibleverses.org without third-party CDNs.

Questions

Is the widget free to use on church websites and blogs?

Yes. Both widgets and the underlying public-domain Bible texts are free to embed on parish pages, ministry websites, blogs and personal homepages. Please keep the source link below the frame intact.

Does the embed widget set cookies or require a cookie banner?

No. The embed routes do not set any cookies, do not access localStorage and do not load analytics. When a visitor loads your page, their browser requests the frame from randombibleverses.org (just like any embedded content), where IP addresses in server logs are shortened.

How do I add the HTML code in WordPress or a website builder?

In the WordPress block editor (Gutenberg), add a Custom HTML block and paste the copied snippet. In Elementor, Squarespace, Wix or parish content management systems, use the HTML or Embed element.

Can I force light or dark mode, or pick a default translation?

Yes. Choose Light or Dark in the configurator above to append ?theme=light or ?theme=dark to the frame URL, and select BSB, KJV or WEB to set the starting translation via ?t=kjv or ?t=web.
