The Christmas story in the Bible

The passage most often read on Christmas Eve is Luke 2:1–20, with the shepherds and the angels. Matthew tells of Joseph and the Magi, and John 1 speaks of the Word becoming flesh without describing the birth itself. Many people know the KJV wording from carols, cards and readings; the BSB and WEB give the same passages in current English. For a card, a single verse such as Luke 2:11 or Isaiah 9:6 is a common choice.
