Easter in the Bible

All four Gospels close with the crucifixion and with accounts of the empty tomb on the first day of the week. The letters reflect on these events: 1 Corinthians 15:20–22 calls Christ the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep, and 1 Peter 1:3 speaks of a living hope through the resurrection. John 11:25–26 belongs to the story of Lazarus, which takes place before Easter. The context view shows where a verse stands and who is speaking. For an Easter card, a short verse is often easiest to read; the length filter helps.

More than that, I count all things as loss compared to the surpassing excellence of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have lost all things.
