Grace and mercy
In the Bible, grace and mercy are close in meaning, and the three translations here do not always use the same English word. Some verses on this page speak of mercy, such as Micah 6:8 or Matthew 5:7. Christian traditions understand grace in different ways; this page shows the text and its context without interpreting it. 2 Corinthians 12:9 is part of Paul’s account of his own weakness, and John 1:14 belongs to the opening of the Gospel of John. The context view opens the surrounding chapter.
